To connect people to the rich History of the Hilliard Ohio area by collecting, preserving and presenting historical artifacts, documents and collections to educate and inspire current and future generations.

Summer Events

Franklin County Fair BONUS!

The Hilliard Historical Village & Museum are open every day July 14-20

1PM - 5PM

What’s there to do at the village?

  1. Take the Kid’s Scavenger Hunt.

  2. Tour the general store, parlor, barbershop, doctor’s office, kitchen, chicken coop and more our air conditioned museum.

  3. Travel through any of our 8 authentic buildings and get a sense of life in the mid-1800s.

  4. Talk with our guides in the church, schoolhouse, log cabin, caboose, train station, and barn.

  5. Shop at our Museum’s Gift Shop.

    *Locate us by the new restrooms on the west side of the fair!

Education

Field Trips, Tours & Programs

Set up those educational field trips!

If you’re a teacher or leader of ages 7-12 and want your students to have a hands-on experience of life in the 1800s, this is an ideal field trip for them! We offer amazing guided tours in REAL historic buildings from around the Hilliard area and all in one place! Enjoy our extensive museum and get a feel of life long ago.

If you can’t come to us, ask us about our History-In-A-Suitcase Program.

Venues

Weddings, Receptions, Showers, Reunions, Graduation & Birthday Parties

Planning a budget friendly wedding, or needing a place for a concert, wedding or baby shower, graduation, family reunion, or party?

We have the perfect selection of venues for you! Choose from the charming Colwell Chapel, Gazebo or Pavilion in our village or the pavilion off Norwich St. to hold your special event. Donna will be happy to help with any event. Spaces are available from April 1 - November 30.

Volunteering

Volunteering can help you make friends, learn new skills, advance your career, and even make you feel happier and healthier. We would love for you to be a part of this non-profit organization.

Becoming a member of the Hilliard Ohio Historical Society helps keep history alive by preserving our museum and historic buildings, educating the students & community, and collecting & documenting artifacts.

Memberships: Individual, Family, Junior/Student, Individual 10-Year, Family 10-year and Contributing/Business Memberships.

Hilliard Historical Society Library & Archival Center

Need to do some family research? Do you want to learn more about the history of Hilliard? Would you like to donate a piece of history passed down in your family? You’ll find people here willing to help you answer those questions.

Normal Hours of operation:

Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Walk-ins welcome.
